How to remove administrator from IAS administration tenant

Environment:

SAP Identity Authentication Service

Description:

There is a need to delete an administrator of an IAS tenant.

Resolution:

For the administrator of "User" type, there are two ways to remove the administrator.

• OPTION 1: Remove all administration authorizations from the administrator. The user account will be retained and become a normal user.
  1. Access the tenant's administration console for Identity Authentication.
  2. Choose the Administrators tile. This operation opens a list of all administrators in alphabetical order.
  3. Choose the administrator name whose authorizations you want to delete.
  4. Remove all authorizations, the user will no longer be an administrator, and the name will be removed from the list on the left.

• OPTION 2:  Delete the user account of the administrator from user management. The administration authorizations will be deleted as well as the user account.

For the administrator of "System" type, the only way to delete it is to remove all administration authorizations as described in option 1.
