Description:
How to reset password for a User in SAP IAS
Solution:
Identity Authentication Service (IAS)
There are two categories of users logging in through SAP IAS/IPS:
a) Single Sign-On (SSO)
b) Password-based authentication
Users who authenticate via SSO can only reset their passwords through their IdP (Identity Provider), like Azure AD, ADFS etc.
On the other hand, password-based users can reset their passwords through the IAS/IPS system.
Below are the steps to reset passwords for non-SSO users. SSO users can also use password-based login if they encounter issues with SSO login if Identity Authentication Users Log On is enabled by following the method below.
1) In the Users & Authorization section, choose the user for whom you wish to change the password.
2) Select the Authentication tab.
3) Click on the Authentication tab and choose Password Details.
Select the option to set the initial password.
4) Set the new password.
